Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the house,
the creatures were stirring, especially my spouse.
My exams are done, the papers written with care,
in hopes that the professors will mark them quite fair.
Today marks the first day of the holiday break.
To celebrate the season, I decided to bake.
Not fruit cakes or sugar plums, they simply won't do.
I decided to whip up a batch of cookies, or two.
This recipe is one that I make each year,
it's perfect for hot chocolate and holiday cheer.
So put on your apron and get out your bowl,
make these for Santa and you won't get a lump of coal!
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas Cookies

- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 cups all purpose flour
~ Melt butter to touch.
~ Beat icing sugar, butter and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
~ Stir in one cup of flour at a time, mixing until combined.

~ Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
~ Cool on wire cookie racks.
Enjoy!
